This last Saturday evening, April 25, I won the Alexander Kennedy Isbister Award for Non-Fiction at the Manitoba Book Awards. I didn’t expect to win, and became a bit incoherent from excitement and an overheated room.

Contemporary Verse Two magazine has been doing a terrific series of interviews with Winnipeg and Winnipeg-connected poets. Included so far are Patrick Friesen, John K. Samson, Maureen Scott-Harris and me. Clarise Foster conducted the interviews, and Melody Morrissette did the videography and production.
I’m proud to announce that my new book of poems, Six, will appear with Palimpsest Press in fall 2015, to be edited by an outstanding Toronto poet, Jim Johnstone.
